Werken met twee modellen is altijd leuk, maar geeft ook wel dubbel de stress. Je kunt natuurlijk voor beide dezelfde set-ups gebruiken op dezelfde locatie, maar met twee zo verschillende modellen als Gess en Deborah wordt dat wel een uitdaging. Toch geprobeerd om voor beiden een eigen shoot te maken.

Working with two models is always fun, but creates double stress. You could use the same set-ups and locations for both models, but with two completely different models as Gess and Deborah that is a challenge. Still I tried to create a personal shoot for both.

De zon scheen weer erg fel ondanks dat het wat later op de dag was. Het was dus weer noodzakelijk om de Cokin ND filters te gebruiken om op een groot diaftagma te kunnen werken. Ik moets tot -12 gaan om dat te bereiken. Nadeel hiervan is dat je dan je Speedlights meestal wel op vol vermogen moet gebruiken om ze nog zichtbaar te hebben in de foto’s.

The sun was again very bright even on this later time in the day. It was necessary again to brake out the Cokin ND filters to be able to use a large aperture. I had to go to -12 to achieve that. The downside to this is that the Speedlights  have to work mostly on full power to be visible in the images.

In dit soort weer loop je dus wel tegen de beperkingen aan van het werken met Speedlights in tegenstelling tot het gebruik van meer krachtige accuflitsers. Maar goed, dat is een keuze die je als fotograaf zelf maakt. Dat heeft natuurlijk te maken met wat je mee wilt slepen en je budget.

In this kind of weather you run into the limitations of working with Speedlights against using the more powerful battery-powered flashes. But ok, that is a choice you make as a photographer. That has to do with what you want to drag along and your budget.

Ondanks alle techniche hordes en tijdsdruk zijn we er toch nog in geslaagd om beide modellen goed op de plaat te krijgen. Elk in hun eigen onderscheidende stijl.

Despite all the technical hurdles and time-pressure we still managed to capture both models in a good way. Each in their own distinctive style.
